Motivated Mindsets In Africa is an organization in Mathare (Nairobi), Kenya that creates programs which promote talent, education, entrepreneurship and empowerment. It’s a group comprised of both the young and old members of the society who are driven by their dreams, passion and talent to make a positive impact on the society. It was born by the urge to give back to the society with what we have at hand in the present moment.
Our vision is to identify and nurture potential talent & skills through activating young minds to touch lives with opportunities.
Our objectives:
-To engage young minds from an early age in creative & character building endeavors.
-To nurture ethical, selfless leaders who think more of their followers and less of themselves.
-To encourage awareness in general knowledge by encouraging a reading culture.
-To partner with schools, children’s home and institutions of higher learning for information sharing and awareness creation.
-Bringing dreams to life.
-To impart life skills appropriate to different age groups.
-To promote or assist in the promotion of any society, company or any other body having objectives similar to those of the society.
-Focuses on personal development of individuals to make them people of value and competence in the society.
We embark on various activities in the community to uplift and sustain the living standards of our individuals.
They include:
-Film & Acting Drama
-Dancing
-Community Outreach
-Documentaries (slum stories)
-Mentorship of schools
Brief History:
The idea was birthed back in 2015 as a student council based project (Ruaraka High School). The founder named it “Motivated Mindsets Empire” back then. It was later on changed to “Motivated Mindsets In Africa” when the “Slumotivation” program was drafted and injected its activities as the main backbone of first class prioritized objectives. Brian Otieno Owino, was mostly motivated by his background in his journey of touching lives at his humble moments.
